Following category of candidates having scholarships/fellowships will be considered eligible for admission in University for Ph.D. Programme:
  1. 1. ICCR and other Awardees (Foreign Students):
    • This category refers to Foreign Candidates sponsored by their Governments and awarded scholarship by ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) Government of India or by any other sponsoring body approved by Government of India.
    • They should apply for admission through Indian Embassy in their country.
    • Full-time candidates with scholarship coming on study leave must show proof of at least 3 years study leave before being allowed to register after the selection.
    • For admission to Ph.D. Programmes in Pharmacy / Science / Humanities / Management, etc., if the candidate does not have a NET Fellowship (UGC/ CSIR) / GATE/GPAT Score valid for the current year in relevant area, the candidate has to qualify the Ph.D. Entrance Test of the University.
  2. 2. Candidate with fellowship:
    • 3. This category refers to candidates who have been awarded fellowship such as JRF or SRF fellowship from UGC, CSIR, and DST, etc.
    • These categories also include candidates who have been selected as JRF or SRF in Research Projects awarded to teachers of a department of the University.
  3. 4. Candidates on Study Leave:
    • Candidates under this category will include those from government or educational institutions who are on study leave for a period of not less than three years for pursuing the Ph.D. Programme.
    • This category also includes those college or university teachers who have been awarded Teacher Research Fellowship to pursue Ph.D. programme.
    • 5. The students holding a Masters (Post-Graduate) Degree, who have additionally cleared UGC / CSIR (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET / GATE / GPAT / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations, may be exempted from appearing in the Ph.D. entrance test.
    • However, University reserves the right to conduct entrance test and/or interview for such candidates.
