Maulana Azad College of Pharmacy (PCI code-8326) is a part of globally recognized Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur, India which was established in year 2013 vides Rajasthan State Government Act No. 35 (2013). Maulana Azad College of Pharmacy was established in 2023 to set a touchstone in field of Pharmaceutical education starting its journey with the Diploma in Pharmacy Program in the inception of its journey. The programme put into ideas the most novel and progressive teaching, conjointly with basic formulation, synthesis, concepts of Community Pharmacy, Social Pharmacy & Hospital Pharmacy as prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India. We have renowned faculty members with expertise in basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences, and who epitomize interdisciplinary training and research and are committed to training the next generation of Pharmacists aspiring to be the part of as many sectors and departments whichever may contain them for the noble service of Pharmacy.

Expected course outcomes of Diploma in Pharmacy

A) Knowledge and understanding

Explain basic concepts of pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biochemistry and social pharmacy relevant to safe and effective use of medicines.

Describe legal and ethical frameworks governing pharmacy practice, including essential provisions of pharmacy‑related laws and regulations.

B) Professional skills and practice

Perform accurate pharmaceutical calculations, basic compounding, dispensing, labeling and storage of medicines as per pharmacopeial and statutory requirements.

Provide essential pharmaceutical care: screen prescriptions, detect common errors, recognize adverse effects, and assist in optimizing drug therapy under supervision.

C) Patient care and communication

Counsel patients and caregivers on correct use, dose, route, storage and precautions of prescribed and non‑prescription medicines in community and hospital settings.

Participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities, including health education, first aid and basic life support within the pharmacist’s scope.

D) Professionalism, ethics and teamwork

Demonstrate professional behaviour, accountability, confidentiality and ethical decision‑making in all pharmacy activities.

Work effectively as a member of a healthcare team, showing respect, leadership potential and appropriate interpersonal skills.

E)Lifelong learning and societal orientation

Recognize the need for continuous updating of drug, guideline and regulatory knowledge and engage in self‑directed learning.

Appreciate the pharmacist’s role in public health, rational use of medicines, pharmacovigilance and responsible use of healthcare resources.
